Jim Norrod – CEO
bio

Jim joined BigBelly Solar as CEO in 2013. Jim has been the CEO of a number of companies, including Infinite Power Solutions, Segway Inc., Xanoptix Inc., Cignal Global, Octocom-Telebit-ITK, Adage Inc. and CGX Corporation, leading many of those companies to successful acquisitions or mergers. Jim has a BS in Economics from Oakland University and an MBA from the University of Detroit-Mercy.

Jim Poss – President & CTO

Jim founded BigBelly Solar in 2003 while completing his MBA at Babson College. Jim began his career in renewable energy with a Pew Foundation grant to build a wave-powered energy generator. He further developed his focus on renewable energy in technical and business roles with Spire Corporation (solar) and Solectria/Azure Dynamics (electric vehicles). Jim received a dual undergraduate bachelors degree in Geology and Environmental Science & Policy from Duke University.

Steven Delaney – Chief Financial Officer

An early employee of the company, Steve has served as CFO since 2004 and has been a key player in the company’s success. Previously, he was the VP of Finance and Administration with Acusphere, a publicly traded biotech company. Earlier, Steve directed the Asia Pacific financial and business consulting operations out of Hong Kong for Business International, the research & consulting arm of the Economist Group. He has also worked in equity financing with a corporate venture capital firm. Steve received his MBA from Dartmouth College (Tuck), where he founded the Environmental Management club. He received his BS from Boston University with an economics/finance concentration.

Jack Kutner – Executive Vice President

Jack Kutner, Executive Vice President of BigBelly Solar, focuses on select strategic initiatives and relationships. Immediately prior to this role, Jack served as CEO of BigBelly Solar and led the company to a consistent doubling of revenue. Previously, he was the President and CEO of the Investor Services Group (ISG) of First Data Corporation. In Jack’s 4 years with ISG at the CEO and COO levels, he led the $380M revenue, 3,800 employee company to an average compound annual growth rate of 18.5% and was instrumental in the successful sale of ISG to PNC for $1.1 billion. Prior to ISG, Jack held VP level roles with American Express and Merrill Lynch. Jack received his BSBA degree, summa cum laude, from SUNY Albany.

Chris Summersgill – Vice President of Operations

Chris has been VP of Operations at BigBelly Solar since 2007 and is responsible for manufacturing, sourcing and customer service. Chris was previously CEO & President of Bolt Industries and has supply chain and strategy consulting experience from Nonstop Solutions, Hewlett Packard and the Monitor Group. Chris has an MBA from Northwestern (Kellogg) and a BA in Physics from Middlebury College.

Mike Feldman – Vice President of Engineering

Mike joined BigBelly Solar in 2010 as its Vice President of Engineering, guiding the technical team and creating innovative hardware and software solutions. His prior experience includes Senior Executive and General Manager at Ciena Corporation and various development management positions in the software and networking industries including stints at Wavesmith Networks, Zhone Technologies and Ascend. Mike has a BSCS in Computer Science, Applied Science & Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Matt Volpi – Director of Product Marketing

Matt leads product strategy and marketing at BigBelly Solar. He came to the company in 2011 after building mobile self-service retail technology and targeted marketing solutions for Modiv Media (now Catalina Marketing). Matt has been a product management executive in the mobile and Internet industries for more than 15 years, having also worked at Sun Microsystems, Nokia and CMGi. Matt has an MBA from Babson College and a BA in Journalism from Penn State University.
